My originals EP "The Lockdown Sessions", available to listen and buy on Bandcamp: https://jarrodgrgic.bandcamp.com/albu... ----- Hey people, here's a cover of the Coldplay track "A Rush Of Blood To The Head". I got really into the album this song came from a few years ago after having only really heard "The Scientist" from that album, and while the album as a whole is really good, I really liked the title track and wanted to eventually do a cover of it. At some point I watched Coldplay's "Live 2003" DVD which included this song, and I liked the piano outro on that live version and decided to incorporate that into my cover. This one has probably my favourite drum sound I've gotten, especially for the fact that it's only 4 drum mics (kick/snare/two overheads in the Glyn Johns setup). The piano that goes throughout is in two passes -- one that's playing the main piano part and the other which is playing partial chords, and playing in reverse for the whole song. Easily the biggest part of the guitar sound in this song is the long delay/echo that continues after each guitar phrase, and I used the UAD Galaxy Tape Echo plugin by Universal Audio for that purpose, which emulates the Roland RE-201 Space Echo. That plugin is on all of the electric guitar in some way or another, and also on some of the piano tracks. ----- Programs used: DAW: Logic Pro 10.6.3 Video Editing: Vegas Pro 18 Instruments: Acoustic Guitar: Maton EM225C Electric Guitar: Homemade JBG-6 w/ EMG 89/SA/SA Bass Guitar: G&L L-2000 Drums: Pearl 4-Piece Vision SST Birch Snare: Pearl SensiTone Steel 14x5.5" Hi-Hats: Zildjian "A" New Beat 14" Crash Cymbal 1: Zildjian "A" Medium Thin 18" Crash Cymbal 2: Zildjian "A" Sweet Ride 21" Ride Cymbal: Sabian "AA" Medium 20" Organ: Roland XP-60 Grand Piano: Yamaha C5 Gear: Guitar Amp: Fender Blues Junior Guitar Compressor: MXR Dyna Comp Bass Compressor: Boss CS-2 Compression Sustainer Bass Preamp: Tech 21 NYC SansAmp YYZ Interface: Roland STUDIO-CAPTURE UA1610 Interface (Drums): Digidesign 96 I/O Microphones: AKG C414 (x2) (Acoustic guitar, electric guitar, Glyn Johns setup, grand piano, shaker, tambourine, vocals) AKG D112 (Kick) Neumann KM184 (Snare) Neumann U87 (Acoustic guitar room) Cameras: Main: Panasonic G95 Main Lens: Olympus M.Zuiko Digital 17mm f/1.8 Secondary Lens: Panasonic Lumix G 12-60mm f/3.5-5.6 Drums: Canon XF105 ---- Guitar Tunings and Gauges: Maton EM225C: E Standard: E-A-D-G-B-E Elixir Nanoweb Phosphor Bronze Custom Light (11-52) Homemade JBG-6 E Standard: E-A-D-G-B-E Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinky (9-46) G&L L-2000 E Standard: E-A-D-G Unknown roundwounds Twitter: / imafuturegh Facebook: / imafutureguitarhero
