This video describes the basic surgical technique used for endoscopic third ventriculostomy (ETV) combined with choroid plexus cauterization (CPC) using the flexible (fiberoptic) scope. . The use of this technique has recently expanded in the management of infantile hydrocephalus rendering the patients shunt-free. Young children with low ETV success score having a lower preoperative probability of success, might benefit from adding CPC to the procedure. Studies have shown that using the flexible scope to add CPC to the ETV in some patients posed a favorable outcome.
