I Fished 9 HOURS While the Wife Was Away… Was It Worth It?!

This week on the channel I took advantage of having the house to myself and headed out for a long 9 hour fishing session! 🎣 With the wife away, it felt like the perfect opportunity to fish the entire tide up, so I headed down to Hampstead Beach to see what I could find. The plan was simple: 🎯 Try and find an early February smoothhound 🎯 Maybe pick up a flounder during the daylight hours I started fishing at 12:00 and stayed right through until 21:00, covering the whole tide and hoping something special would turn up. The fishing was fairly slow through the day, but once darkness fell things started to pick up a little with a few bass and dogfish showing up. There was also one mystery bite that I just couldn’t hook… and it’s still got me wondering what it might have been! Even when the fishing is slow, there’s nothing better than spending a full day on the beach and seeing what turns up.
