The mosque is quadrangular in shape. It is divided into five parts. Each section has arched entrances and the central section is particularly noteworthy for its graceful narrow spire. The mosque has five domes. Some of these were damaged and some remained fairly intact after the 1897 earthquake. The earthquake damaged many parts of the structure. The total size of the building is 19. 5 acres and can hold 2000 worshippers. 2000 square mats are depicted on the floor.
