Play bridge online: https://learnbridgeonline.com/product... In this interesting hand that came up in one of India's play sessions, we find a fantastic example of how our different bidding systems can lead to very different outcomes. Sitting South, Standard players will open this hand a simple 1NT which becomes the contract. But with both four spades and four diamonds, Acol players will have to decide as a partnership whether they open their higher 4-card suit or their lower. Bidding the same hand, three different partnerships will end up in either 1NT, 2NT, or 3NT. And all three of these are "correct." As India points out, each of these auctions give different hints to the defence about what to lead and how to best defend this hand. So, what's the best system? It really depends on the context, but it is always important to understand how the different systems you encounter might give different clues. ♠♥♦♣♠♥♦♣♠♥♦♣ #bridge #contractbridge #learnbridgeonline Learn how to play bridge online at https://learnbridgeonline.com/
