I was given a request for this in a comment on one of my videos. I will not specify to protect their privacy. Ta me curamach mar, I am unused to internet decorum. I hope they see and enjoy it. This is Lord Eddard Stark's dream on Page 409 of A Game Of Thrones from the A Song of Ice And Fire series by GRR Martin. In the scene he confronted a trio of Kingsgaurd at the Tower of Joy in the Prince's Pass in Dorne. Lord Stark had twice the number of men, but they were up against the Sword of the Morning, Ser Arthur Dane, the greatest swordsman in Westeros, wielder of the Valyrian Steel Greatsword; Dawn. The Kingsgaurd were the greatest swordsmen of the whole of the seven kingdoms. Ser Arthur Dane was to the Kingsgaurd what the Kingsgaurd were to the average knight. But Lord Eddard's sister was in that tower and she needed his help... I decided to use different accents for this. Unfortunately, I had to improvise with a tascam where I would usually have a blue yeti microphone. The quality might not be that great. I might re-record it sometime in the future. The accent I used for Lord Eddard Stark was a Northern Irish accent because when I think Northern, I think Ulster, not Sheffield. The accent I used for Ser Gerold Hightower was a simplified Welsh accent with a stress on the Welsh rolled R because I have never done a Welsh accent before and also I needed to distinguish it from my Northern Irish accent which I kept slipping into. I did this because Rhys Ifans, despite Welsh being his first languague, did not use a Welsh accent in HOTD. I don't like when Celtic languague speakers get snubbed because their accent is considered uncouth. So I wanted to show that Celtic accents can sound noble and fit the fantasy genre better than Received Pronunciation or American accents. I was short on time so I could not prepare a good accent for Ser Whent. House Whent (the bat one) is from Harrenhall in the Riverlands. I was unsure what to go for, in retrospect maybe a North English accent like Yorkshire or something would have been better. But I went with a basic impromptu Scottish accent just to distinguish him. Ser Arthur Dane was given an Italian accent. I know, I know, he's a Stoney Dornishman and not a Rhoynar Dornishman but I imagine that despite not looking like a Rhoynar, the Danes would at least have the Dornish accent. In the Show, they are given a kind of Mediterranean accent, so I tried an Italian accent. Parlo un poccino de Italiano. So the accent is easier to emulate than figuring out a Spaniard accent. I mistakenly gave the Stark's Steward, Poole, an English accent. I wanted to distinguish him from Lady Lyanna and Lord Eddard. I mistook him for a courtier of the Red Keep. Not sure why. Gabh mo leisceal, I forgot he was the father of Jeyne Poole. I think the music and the SFX are far better than my voice acting here. But we'll see.
