A.J. Quetta, a senior at Bishop Feehan High School in Attleboro, is currently in hospital at risk of paralysis after skating head first into the boards during a game against Pope Francis School in Springfield Tuesday night. This is a heart wrenching injury for such a young varsity player. In this video I review the mechanisms of severe axial head loading injuries and discuss why A.J. Quetta is at risk of paralysis. We will review how we ensure the c-spine is protected and stabilized on the ice. I will then go over the anatomy of the spine and discuss risk of serious spinal cord injury and paralysis from a head impaction injury. Support the Channel: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/sonamspo...
