A 16-year-old boy was arrested from Thane district, Maharashtra, on April 11 for making a threat to kill Bollywood actor Salman Khan. The teenager had made a call to the police, threatening to kill the 57-year-old actor. The police were able to track the number from which the call was made and subsequently detained the boy. The caller turned out to be a class IX dropout from Rajasthan. However, the motive behind the death threat to the actor is yet to be ascertained. Following the arrest, the minor was placed before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) as per the Juvenile Justice Act guidelines. The CWC ordered to keep the minor at the David Sassoon School and Children's Home until further notice. The boy is likely to be handed over to his parents. Salman Khan has received multiple death threats in recent years, and this is not the first time that such an incident has occurred. However, the actor is currently busy promoting his upcoming film 'Kisi Ka Bhai, Kisi Ki Jaan' and has not commented on the issue. It is important to note that making such threats is a punishable offense under the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The police are investigating the matter further, and appropriate legal action will be taken against the teenager if found guilty. This incident highlights the need for increased security measures and stricter laws to prevent such threats and ensure the safety of celebrities and public figures. It also underscores the importance of addressing the root causes behind such behavior, such as mental health issues, social media influences, and the glamorization of violence in popular culture. #salmankhan #mumbai #jodhpur #deaththreats #latestnews #bollywood #mumbaipolice #mumbai Subscribe to The Times of India's YouTube channel: http://goo.gl/WgIatu For daily news & updates and exclusive stories, follow the Times of India Facebook: / timesofindia Instagram: / timesofindia Download the app: http://toi.in/3SLUCa80 Follow TOI+ for well-researched and in-depth news and analysis Facebook: / timesofindiaplus Twitter: / toiplus Instagram: / toi_plus
