This Sister Connection Night marked the sacred beginning of our WOW Fast with one clear invitation: surrender the need to understand and trust God fully. On Night One, we gathered in worship, teaching, reflection, and prayer to intentionally shift our posture from control to obedience. This was not a surface-level conversation about surrender. It was a heart-level call to release the one thing standing between us and a full yes to God. Throughout the night, we explored what it truly means to trust God when clarity feels incomplete, outcomes feel uncertain, and obedience requires letting go of familiar patterns. Through personal testimony, biblical examples, and guided reflection, we were reminded that partial obedience is still disobedience, and radical obedience begins with surrender. This session emphasized that surrender is not weakness. It is trust in motion. We talked about releasing control, manipulation, fear, unforgiveness, and the need to manage outcomes, choosing instead to rest in God’s sovereignty. Through the story of the widow and Elisha, Esther, and Samuel, we saw how God multiplies what is placed fully in His hands, even when it feels small or costly. We closed the night with intentional preparation for the fast, communion, prayer, and a clear assignment: identify the one thing that is keeping you from a full yes and release it to God. This night set the spiritual tone for fasting, prayer, and hearing God’s voice with clarity and obedience. Write it down, pray over it, and release it intentionally. 2. Stop trying to understand before you obey. Obedience often comes before clarity. 3. Assess where control, fear, or manipulation may be influencing your decisions. Surrender requires trust, not certainty. 4. Create daily space during the fast to hear God’s voice and respond with action, not delay. 5. Engage fully in the fast through prayer, worship, communion, and the devotional provided. This is preparation, not punishment.
