Should I buy a home in 2021 in Vancouver? In this video, I discuss some of my thoughts on buying now vs holding out for more favourable market conditions. There's no right or wrong answer to this, and ultimately it comes down to your personal circumstances. If you're in it for the long haul and planning to buy and hold your property for several years, current market conditions and short term volatility become less of a factor. The primary benefit of buying now is that you're likely to get a low interest rate on your mortgage. The lower your mortgage rate, the less you'll pay on your home loan each month. The biggest drawback to buying now is that competition is fierce due to limited inventory, which is driving home prices upwards.
