This clip is from an Enterprise Doctor Business Show podcast episode featuring Lawrence Wood of Wycomedia Communications. It doesn’t matter what you say, it’s all about how you say it – Right? Wrong! In 1967, Psychology Professor Albert Mehrabian released two papers regarding the effect on an audience of inconsistencies between the verbal and non-verbal communications of a speaker. In doing so, Mehrabian unwittingly manifested the most malignant myth of modern oratory – the 7-38-55 principle. Public speaking “experts” jumped on this research proudly claiming that it PROVES content doesn’t matter, it’s all about your delivery! Style over substance! Imagine their shock when Mehrabian himself told them that was a lie. To hear the full Mehrabian story, and how the truth behind his brilliant work creates powerful pitches and presentations, sign up to Lawrence's 1 hour, Zoom based, workshop running on the 1st of September 2020 at 13.00, go to https://www.eventbrite.com/e/busting-... .
