Video looking at the AGC amplifier and S Meter. Based around a 741 opamp acting as a DC amplifier. Pre-amp is a J310/2N3906 combination. The AGC time constant is set at 1 second, which seems to provide a nice balance between fast and slow AGC. It would be easy to add a switch to switch different value capacitors in. The output of the AGC amplifier is 6VDC (no signal) to 1.2VDC max attenuation. The video mentions experimenting with a LM386N-1, a low voltage audio power amp. As expected, it wasn't really suited for the application. I'll look to use this for now and may look to enhance it once the overall radio is built. Also discussed are the next steps, which will involve converting the receiver into a transceiver, as well as using a similar circuit for high reverse SWR protection.
