In 2021, 74 million people were affected by disasters, causing over 18,200 deaths and $280 billion in damages. Yet, these numbers don't tell the full story. Small-scale and slow-onset disasters—like local floods, landslides, and droughts—are often ignored in official statistics, even though their combined impact can be just as damaging as large-scale disasters.📈🔍 Ignoring these risks could leave communities vulnerable.
