Methane has been ignored and under-regulated for years, and almost anytime organizations look at the figures more closely, they find more than what is officially reported. The true impact of methane emissions in the EU is likely much, much bigger than we suspect. In the short term, methane emissions are about 80x more damaging than CO2. If we don’t act now, even the most aggressive CO2 reductions won’t save us from calamitous climate repercussions.
