Coastal landscape painting - LAYERED technique in acrylics - full demo with music (no talking)

In this painting marathon I'm sharing my process for creating a seascape in acrylics, applied in lots of thin layers. This layered technique could equally be used for oil paints, or for an acrylic painting finished off in oils. I'm working from a photo and I love the sense of late afternoon light in the image, so I've tried to capture that in the artwork. The painting board is 30 x 45 cm, or 12 x 18 inches. I started off a bit tentatively, with thinner paint than I usually use. I know the beach in the image very well, and I think I was a bit nervous about doing justice to its natural beauty. In the end I've used about 5 to 6 paint layers to create this painting. The benefit of using so many layers is that I've added more details and nuances at each stage, proving that sometimes what seems like a mistake can turn to an advantage.
