(18 Feb 2026) RESTRICTION SUMMARY: ++BEGINS AND ENDS ON SOUNDBITE++ ++WHITE FLASH SEPARATE SOUNDBITE++ ASSOCIATED PRESS Houston, Texas - 16 February 2026 1. SOUNDBITE (English) Andres Castillo, content creator: "As a Latino myself with like, you know, family that's going through, you know, so much right now with this political climate, I think it's important to use our voice and our platforms, whether big or small and, you know, it just encouraged Latinos to get out there and vote, and speak up for them, speak up for themselves." 2. SOUNDBITE (English) Carlos Eduardo Espina, content creator: "You got, you know, the Spanish-speaking creators in Latin America talking about Latin American issues, and you had the Latinos here in the U.S., you know, making content in English, but there was really no one making content in Spanish for Latinos here in the United States. So I was able to, in a way, fill that void." ++WHITE FLASH++ 3. SOUNDBITE (English) Carlos Eduardo Espina, content creator: "The way I do it is like, if this person in their position of power can change my life directly, then I feel like I have a right to have an opinion on them. So yeah, I try to do that all the time. In this election cycle, I've already endorsed some people and I plan on endorsing more people, but that decision is always just made of like, hey, whether I like this person or not." ++WHITE FLASH++ 4. SOUNDBITE (English) Carlos Eduardo Espina, content creator: "I think politics has changed so much to the point where I've gotten so many cool opportunities and cool things that I can do for myself and for my community and for the people I care about being a content creator, more than if I were a member of any elected body." 5. SOUNDBITE (English) Andres Castillo, content creator: "So it's really crazy what social media can do for you. I mean, people ultimately go out of their way to help you and It's amazing how this platform can just connect so many people." ++ENDS ON SOUNDBITE++ STORYLINE: The political arm of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus is launching a network of online content creators meant to connect influencers with political candidates and boost Latino voter turnout ahead of this year’s midterm elections. The BOLD PAC’s RUIDO digital organizing program aims to select and train content creators who want to engage in politics. Hispanic Caucus leaders hope the program will help spread Democratic messaging to voters in targeted congressional districts more effectively than traditional campaign tactics. The Associated Press spoke with two local Houston influencers in the program about their work. “It’s really crazy what social media can do for you. I mean, people ultimately go out of their way to help you, and it’s amazing how this platform can connect so many people,” said Andres Castillo, a content creator from Houston. Carlos Eduardo Espina is another influencer who posts videos in Spanish about politics. “I’ve gotten so many cool opportunities and things that I can do for myself, my community and the people I care about by being a content creator, more than if I were a member of any elected body,” said Espina. The Hispanic Caucus is comprised entirely of Democrats; its Republican counterpart is the Congressional Hispanic Conference. =========================================================== Clients are reminded to adhere to all listed restrictions and to check the terms of their licence agreements.
