Nymburk is a beautiful town in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic, located 40 km east of Prague on the Elbe River. The town was founded by Czech king Přemysl Otakar II about the year 1275 and for the whole middle ages it belonged among the most influential towns in the country, being endowed with many privileges. Present Nymburk is a modern administrative town, the centre of the middle Elbe riverside.
