Banzai - Chinese Kung Fu (disco version)

In 1975, French musician Bernard Estardy under the pseudonym of "Subway" made this production as the leader of studio band Banzai. In Colombia (and probably other Latin American countries), this tune was extremely popular and I dare to say that, on every high school in the country, there was a group of students presenting a show dancing to this piece at some point during the second half of the seventies. Actually, Les Clodettes was a French group of female dancers that helped making this tune popular (you can find them on YouTube dancing to "Chinese Kung Fu"). This piece is loosely built on the chord progression and bassline of Carl Douglas' "Kung Fu Fighting". The version in this video is an extended disco mix by famed record producer and creator of the DJ 12" single format Tom Moulton. Original UK pressing.
