There are 4 steps to take on or after April 1 to take advantage of cheaper health insurance premiums in the Affordable Care Act's private health insurance Marketplace, HealthCare.gov. The American Rescue Plan dramatically expanded subsidies under the Affordable Care Act for the next two years. These changes take effect starting April 1, 2021. This means people with lower incomes could see their health plan premiums drop to $0. People with higher incomes may see a premium tax credit for the first time. To take advantage of these savings there are pro-active steps to take! Beginning on April 1, consumers must go back to HealthCare.gov to update their application.
