Please consider this a cautionary tale. As a young drummer, I was always saving for, dreaming of, and searching for a bigger drum set. More drums. More is better, right? Well, from my current perspective, after having played for too long, 4 piece is perfect, in my humble opinion. It's enough to do anything, and it's easy to schlepp. I had the 12 piece pictured in the video for maybe 5 years or so, adding more and more, and it became an unwieldy monstrosity, taking up entire stages everywhere I went. I learned on a 4 piece, so why couldn't I continue on a 4 piece? I ended up splitting the 12 piece Ludwig classic maple into two drum sets, and selling them. You would think I had learned my lesson, but NNOOOOOOO, I had been eyeing this set of Sonors for some time at Mike's drum shop, and finally, one day, he made me an offer I couldn't refuse. I never was really in love with this set, and I think it was just because it was too many pieces! Again! I did it again! So, I started selecting from the "inventory" I now had, and settled on a couple of favorite configurations, whilst most of the kit stayed home in cases. In this video you see before you ALMOST the whole thing. It also has a 13" tom that I'm using as the floor tom for my mini kit ( a four piece, of course ). If I ever get a new set, it will be something really nice, and it will be 4 pieces! Thanks for watching, and if you made it to the end of this description... BRAVO!
