Between heavy Super Mutant territory, the mysterious settlement of Little Lamplight, and the extreme radiation blocking the main entrance, this part of the journey is one of the most hostile sections in Fallout 3. Vault 87 is infamous for its connection to the Forced Evolutionary Virus and the origin of Super Mutants, making it one of the most important — and dangerous — locations in the Capital Wasteland.
