Miron Sopić is an Associate Professor at the Department of Medical Biochemistry at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Belgrade, and a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellow at the Cardiovascular Research Unit, Department of Precision Health, Luxembourg Institute of Health. His research specializes in uncovering novel epitranscriptomic signatures pertinent to atherosclerosis and employing multiomic approaches for biomarker discovery. Dr. Sopić has successfully led several grant applications, including the COST Action AtheroNET (https://atheronet.eu/), the MSCA Staff Exchange project CardioSCOPE (https://cardio-scope.eu/), and his own MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship, MAACS (https://ec.europa.eu/info/funding-ten.... In this conversation, Miron shares his academic journey, discussing the nonlinear path he took to become an associate professor and the challenges he faced during his PhD and postdoctoral fellowship.
