The territory has a population of over 500,000, with strong Irish, English, and Indigenous influences. Known for its unique culture, natural attractions include Gros Morne National Park, Terra Nova National Park, and the coastal cliffs of Cape Spear which is the easternmost point in North America. The flag, adopted in 1980 was designed by artist Christopher Pratt. It features blue, white and red triangular sections with a gold arrow representing a bright future.
