This walk was inspired by Country Walking Magazine's Paglesham walk, but, as that didn't start at a station, it has been adapted to do so. It is then possible to get a bus back from Paglesham East End to Rochford. It was undertaken on a glorious, late summer's day, with a cooling northerly breeze. The path's were dry and mainly grassed sea-wall, utilising the Roach Valley Way and the King Charles 3rd England Coast path for the most part. Lunch was had at St Peter's church, which is just over half way into this walk, though there is a pub option nearby (not indicated on the O.S map), which was open. Aside from the occasional jet arriving at nearby Southend airport, this was a very peaceful and remote walk. P.S. Southend airport dates back to 1935, and beyond, but it was more recently, with the arrival of a rail station, that saw passenger numbers increase.
