They will never be able or be willing to sit down and face you about how they mistreated you, how they hurt you, and how they wasted your life and time. I knew the truth already, well before she was ready to express her feelings to me, but the way that I was living, didn’t sit well with anyone trying to make me believe that “I wasn’t that guy”—I just wasn’t ready to face the “real”—hurt, dysfunctional, and broken kid in me. That kid wet the bed until he was thirteen, stopped taking baths when his parents were getting divorced, that kid fell in love with stealing, hurting others, and being vindictive. For her to want me to face that kid that she saw and the one that I avoided, It had to take an act of God. And receiving God during those times, we just as uncomfortable—just so you know, so avoided even spiritual encounters, or at least I tried. Having my NPD and Mood Disorder, was safe, fulfilling, yet draining and hurtful all at the same time.
