For our latest unboxing review we bring you the 2017 Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II. Although it's built on the same platform as the previous generation BMW 7 Series, the cars' characters are entirely different. Both appeal to a completely different type of buyer. Not surprisingly, the Roll-Royce buyer will be spending a lot more money, but we think it's totally worth it. Power comes from a twin-turbo 6.6-liter V12 with 563 magnificent hp and 575 lb-ft of torque. Power is distributed to all four wheels through an 8-speed automatic. As you can probably already imagine, the Ghost is a heavy thing, tipping the scale at over 5,600 pounds. Fuel economy? It's not the best (to say the least), coming in at 13/21 mpg city/highway. Our tester came in Diamond Black exterior paint and featured optional 21-inch five twin spoke alloy wheels that cost an additional $8,325. And, of course, that Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament retracts electronically to avoid theft. Step inside and you'll discover an interior that's above and beyond pretty much anything you've ever seen. It's literally like sitting in a piece of fine jewelry, with full and natural grain hides on the seating surfaces, door panniers, lower pillars, instrument panel and center console. Performance is also quite impressive, given this thing's weight. Zero to 60 mph happens in 4.7 seconds. Cost? The base price alone is $295,850, but our tester topped off at nearly $315,000. We can confidently say it's worth every penny. Enjoy the review! Special thanks to Los Gatos Luxury Cars, California.
