That was Author Siphiwo Mahala speaking to us last week about one of DRUM's legends Can Themba. Last night academics, authors, leaders and respected journalists paid tribute to him at a memorial lecture that also celebrated the 50th anniversary of his short story THE SUIT. Can Themba was a major player at DRUM, where his investigative journalism often highlighted the realities and inequalities of the apartheid system. Author, editor, academic and one of the main guest speakers at last night's prestigious occasion Mbulelo Mzamane joins us from our Pretoria studio to tell us more about the great Can Themba.
