Today we're in Tlaxcala. Never heard of it, right? Tlaxcala is the smallest state in Mexico, located just north of the state of Puebla and east of Mexico City. Some even say it's not even a state! It is totally overshadowed by it's neighbours and in some ways, ignored! Until now... Tlaxcala has a great history with Hernan Cortes and the Spanish. It has everything you expect from Mexico from outstanding churches such as the Basilica de Nuestra Senora de Ocotlan as well as one of the oldest cathedrals in Mexico, a bullring and stunning food. Also in thet state of Tlaxcala, you can visit archeological sites, visit in firefly season, climb Mexico's MONSTER Mountain (Malinche) as well as visit countless museums. Tlaxcala was just 'average' when I got there - I was influenced by people saying I shouldn't bother. They were wrong.
