Kayla Slavens is a dedicated hard working first grade teacher hailing from her beloved hometown of Old Hickory, TN. With over a decade of experience in education and teaching at Metro Nashville Public Schools, her passion for helping children reach their full potential has only grown stronger. Recently named Teacher of the Year at her school, Kayla is recognized for her unwavering commitment to providing a voice for every child in her classroom. Her philosophy centers on building children's confidence and helping them recognize their unique value. She believes in all children and lets them know that daily.
