Nooooooo! The best way however is to install your grab bar screws directly into grab bar backing which would be mounted behind your sheetrock wall. Are you that lucky that you have grab bar backing in your wall? Most of the time you won't have it......unless you installed it in your new construction wall prior to installing the drywall. Sure you might catch the edge of one of the existing wall studs in your existing sheetrock wall....but what about the other end of the grab bar......& or both ends if you want your grab bar located in such a way where both ends of your grab bar are just resting on the sheetrock with no backing behind them? Uh oh.......I guess you can't install & secure your grab bars then.......or can you.....?
