This 2 week challenge goes from March 30 - April 13, 2020. The challenge is to keep a gratitude journal in braille using a slate and stylus. This is a fun way to learn how to make braille using an inexpensive slate. In this video I taught how to write the date in the old braille code, which is called English Braille American Edition (EBAE). The way you write the date in UEB (which is the code used in the USA as of 2017) is to first use a numeric indicator and then a number. The key is to remember that a dash and a slash kills numeric mode. So that means if you write the date as 3/30, you will need to repeat the numeric indicator after the slash! And now you know how to write the date in EBAE and UEB! Reference Sheet on How to Write the Date in Braille: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1eLpQ... Create your blank journal using 3x5 index cards. Decorate the cover and figure out how you want to bind it together. (Pro tip if you're going to use yarn or some other type of fastener that's difficult to take apart, keep the pages loose so that you can easily braille them.) -Order a slate and stylus (see link below). -Every day write in your journal in braille -Share photos of your journal on the Facebook page! Participate in the Braille Gratitude Journal Challenge by joining the UEB Study Group's Facebook page.
