So, that video on December 10th on Ground Cherries (Physalis pruinos), a video that I just wanted to do FOR FUN😊, on a WHIM, as I was coming inside having harvested a whole bunch of ground cherries, generated a great deal of discussion and questions! Over 1000 comments! And so far over 365 000 views! The ONE TIME in several months I DIDN'T do a really LONG and very detailed video, there was a ton of attention! (I wonder if that's a hint FROM YOU about how I should do my videos 🤔🤔🤔). I did that video so fast, honestly, I didn't expect it to get any attention! To me, I was just showing a few handfuls of ground cherries at various levels of ripeness, with the husk at various levels of decomposition, and I wanted to show how the little fruit inside was still intact regardless! Little things I like to share! It was more of a curiosity detail than anything else! I thought I would do a follow-up video discussing so many of the topics raised! People were surprised I neither mentioned its FLAVOUR, nor did I TASTE it. So, in this one, I will INDULGE! Along with giving you a RECIPE and DEMO for MAKING THE BEST PHYSALIS JAM! And I'll taste that too! There were also a great many concerns over IDENTIFICATION of this plant and many, many comments suggesting physalis pruinosa or physalis peruviana are poisonous, so I will address both of these points in this video, including how to identify plants and SAFETY TIPS when identifying plants in general. Here's a link to the first video if you haven't seen it. It's short (for me): GROUND CHERRIES - PLANT Them ONCE, HARVEST FOREVER!
