Capital Gate is a striking skyscraper in Abu Dhabi, UAE, known for its dramatic lean and impressive engineering. World Record: Certified by Guinness in 2010 as the “world’s farthest man-made leaning building. Foundation: The building is supported on 490 piles drilled deeply (20-30 meters) under the ground. These piles vary in diameter, and are anchored by a thick reinforced concrete mat footing. Pre-cambered Core: The central structural core is built with a slight opposite lean (pre-camber) so that over time, as floors are added, the weight and structural forces gradually “pull” it toward vertical. This helps balance the tilt.
