Robinson Racing Idaho 200 race recap: We have to start this post with some thank yous. We were extremely fortunate to have had Alex Lessor and a couple members of his crew along to help us at Stateline ID. Rob & Nate Collier along side our team members; Marvin Stone, Dick Robinson, Jason Young, and Tim Hatlen worked their asses of in the crazy heat as we attempted to find more speed thoughout the weekend... 41 cars attempted to make the final field of 24 cars. Some amazing drivers and terrific teams were not going make the show... with this being our teams strongest test to date. Qualifying would be extremely important with the top 14 qualifiers being locked into the show. Our first goal for the weekend was to qualify our way in on our time, avoiding the unknowns in the transfer heat races and Last Chance Qualifier. We were able to achieve that goal qualifying 11th. The invert would be 12 cars, placing us on the outside of the front row for the initial start of the ID200. The car would fire off great, allowing us to post the fastest lap of the race in the early part of the main race. Unfortunately the setup that generated all that Qual speed turned out to kill us in the end. After a couple restarts into the race it was apparent our car was turning too well. Jason fought his ass off as we attempted to maintain track position until we lost spark, ending our day. In the end, we proved we belonged there. That was our primary goal...
