Tsukimidai Housing in Taura, Kanagawa Prefecture, is a group of 65-year-old, Showa-era retro single-story homes. The "town in the sky" is located at the top of the "Nono-ji Bridge," a loop bridge that overcomes the elevation difference from JR Taura Station or Keikyu Anjinzuka Station. Since its closure in 2020, this site, also known as the "Ruins in the Sky," has been renovated by Yokosuka City and is currently undergoing a project to utilize the homes as a cafe, shop, and residence. No sounds of cars or trains to be heard, the lunch I had here, in a completely peaceful, time-stopped otherworldly world, was exceptional.
