EchoStation: device feutures (English version)

EchoS is the first radiation free device for the early diagnosis of osteoporosis at lumbar vertebrae and femoral neck. A quick software-assisted scan, which lasts about 60 seconds for the spine and 40 for the femur, provides simultaneous acquisition of images and corresponding Radiofrequency signals. The algorithm automatically identifies the volumes of the target bone and discards wrong acquisitions and artifacts. The medical report includes all the diagnostic parameters: BMD, T-Score, Body Composition Index and the 10-year risk of fracture calculated through the integrated FRAX® software. The Fragility Score also gives insights on the quality of the internal bone structure, offering an independent prediction of the risk of fracture. EchoS will have a significant beneficial impact on the current protocols and clinical management of the disease, improving accessibility, accuracy, prevention and short-term therapeutic monitoring, definitely making the early diagnosis of osteoporosis a primary care procedure.
