Jessica Wu was born in Taiwan and raised in Northern Virginia. She earned her BA in English Literature from National Chengchi University. During her studies, she delved not only into literature but also participated in Dr. William A. Stanton’s renowned course, “The Big Picture: How Geography, Trade, and Politics Shape Our Troubled World” in Taipei. This experience deepened her understanding of the significant roles that the United States, Taiwan, and China hold in creating our global landscape. Annie (Yu-Lin) Lee is a 2023 graduate of National Chengchi University in Taiwan, with a BA in diplomacy. A dual US-Taiwanese citizen raised in Taipei, Lee is fluent in both Mandarin Chinese and English. Prior to joining the Atlantic Council, she worked as a research assistant at Academia Sinica (Taiwan’s national research institute) on US policy toward Taiwan and China. Her work has been featured by the US-China Perception Monitor, the American Political Science Association, and the Carter Center. As an undergraduate, Lee also completed a semester-long study abroad program at Sciences Po Lille in France. Her areas of interest include grand strategy, US-China-Taiwan relations, and international development with a focus on gender and economic policy.” Listen in as they discuss how their identity as Taiwanese American intersects with their work, identity and interaction within society.
