In 2022, catch and release was the theme for this year's trip and didn't it feel good to put back some huge cod and halibut to preserve the stocks. Covid stole last year's trip, we nearly missed this one too as SAS Airlines striking meant booking additional flights with Norwegian Airlines and Gatwick Airport instead of Manchester. A steady week fishing overall apart from a couple of hours of probably the best fishing we've ever experienced in Norway. We found coalies in a feeding frenzy on the surface, thousands of birds joined in the feast from above. In the depths below were the huge cod, coming up to feed on the coalies. Pirks and shads worked well, but I found putting a coalie on a simple bait rig the best method. I managed to capture much of this on film, but there were many other fish too, it was just too hectic to film it all.
