How to Make Space Ambient, using samples from space, the free NASA audio downloads. I used a couple of pads from synth patches but otherwise all of the sounds were from the sound library NASA make available on their website. It's an awesome resource, filled with some classic sounds and some brilliant atmospheric sounds. The beep in the Eagle Has Landed sample is a D#, so I decided to keep the original pitch and make that the key of the piece (D#m) I filtered out much of the low end but kept some interference in for the feel of it. Maybe it’s a bit obvious to use this sound, but it’s just so good that I had to have it in there. I run through everything sound in the video. There's heavy use of reverb, but you just can't get away from it with this style of music. I limited the stretching to a bit of Warp from Ableton Simpler. All samples are credited to NASA.
