Gopher Snake Crossing the Trail in Rancho Sierra Vista/Satwiwa

It's time to play..."Name That Snake" - Several telltale signs of a rattlesnake are of course the rattle, a series of dark and light bands/rings near the tale and a triangular-shaped head with a distinct neck. I clearly saw there was no rattle on this snake in Rancho Sierra Vista and did not see the bands on the tail. It was also not as wide/broad as rattlesnakes. I was not able to see the head too closely from my vantage point but to me this appears to be a gopher snake. If you are on the trails expect to see snakes.
