When the octopus appears in my art, I know it's time to release something big. 🌌 In this raw story, I share how a sudden pain while painting led me back to a 20-year-old trauma: nerve damage from surgery that cost me my ability to tattoo, my income, and almost everything. That fear of losing it all turned me into a relentless workhorse for nearly two decades—until the octopus spirit showed up again as my mirror, reflecting the old identity I was finally ready to let go. This painting became the perfect guide through deep trust, adaptability, shapeshifting, and surrendering to flow—especially now, after quitting tattooing in 2025 and stepping into a whole new chapter. If you've ever held onto a survival identity too long or felt the call to release fear, this is for you. The Practice (you do not need to be an artist): This is a self-reflection practice, not an art skill exercise. All that’s required is curiosity and honesty. Set aside quiet time and treat the process like a meditation. Set a simple intention: “What wants to come forward?” Allow your hands to move freely without planning or analyzing—using paint, markers, pens, or pencils. Keep the mind relaxed and out of the way, allowing whatever wants to emerge to do so. Observe and write down impressions or memories that surface. Some days are clearer than others—patience and self-compassion are part of the practice. There is no need to judge or interpret immediately; neutrality allows insight to arrive in its own time. If this resonates, you’re welcome to like, subscribe, or sit with the work quietly—whatever feels right for you. Robin also offers 1:1 ThetaHealing sessions through her website, especially for creatives who feel called to release limiting beliefs and reconnect with their authentic expression. 0:00 Intro/Art as Self-Reflection and Creative Channeling 0:33 The Octopus as a Symbol of Change and Intuition 1:09 Pain in the Body as a Message 1:29 Remembering Hand Surgery and Losing Everything 2:05 Fear of Failure and Becoming a Workhorse 2:44 Quitting Tattooing and Facing Old Patterns Again 3:18 Trust, Flow, and Letting Go of Survival Identities 3:38 Art as the Mirror and the Witness Connect with Robin: / seekrseer https://www.seekrseer.net #OctopusSpirit #LettingGo #HealingJourney #SpiritualAwakening #ArtAsMedicine #Shapeshifting #TrustTheProcess #CreativeHealing
