I can understand it when spoken clearly and slowly. There are dialects and there are languages. Frisian is a language. Leeuwarden/Ljouwert is the capitol and main city. It is the birthplace of my father, my teenage years of residence and final resting place of many relatives including my younger brother. It has a special place in my heart.
