Published in 1935, this very interesting novel is one of the classic mysteries that the author wrote during her most brilliant period, and, as the title says, it is part of the canon of crimes that occur during a trip. On a regular flight between Paris and London, one of the passengers is murdered. Thus, in a very well-developed plot, we find a "Tour de Force", in which one of the axes is to see how the crime could be committed, - here the author introduces an element that is common among writers of that time: murders that are almost impossible to commit, and with unusual elements, - in this case a pistol and a poisoned dart -; Another important aspect of the investigation is to try to find the connection between the victim and the rest of the people on that flight, in order to determine the motive for the crime. Naturally, Hercule Poirot, one of the passengers, solves the puzzles and cooperates with the French and English police to solve the case.Finally, the appearance among the characters of a detective novelist is interesting; here, as she later did with Ariadne Oliver, the author refers to the typical authorial archetypes of the genre in a very humorous way - including her own special private detective - and refers - also archetypes - to the titles of her works and the way she constructs her plots. In short, Death in the Clouds, for all the above, is one of those novels worth reading, not only for the pleasure of a very good read, but also to better understand the characteristic elements of a literary genre from the point of view of one of its most prominent exponents.
