Quick introduction to Atlanta Public Schools (APS). You'll learn the demographics, school districts (clusters), and what it means for APS to be a charter system. If you didn’t attend Atlanta Public Schools (APS) you might not be familiar with the language of “clusters”. In the cluster model, each high school is grouped with its feeder middle and elementary schools. And each cluster falls into one of four regions: East, West, North or South. The intended goal behind clusters is to increase the communication between high schools and their feeder schools so there is more alignment in curriculum and facilitate easier transitions for students. APS is divided into 9 clusters. Here they are: 1. Mays 2. Therrell 3. Midtown 4. North Atlanta 5. South Atlanta 6. Douglass 7. Carver 8. Washington 9. Jackson Learn more about APS by signing up for Model Atlanta Academy. It's a series of monthly interactive workshops that will test your knowledge about the city of Atlanta and share how you can help influence equity-driven policy for Atlanta’s youth.
