MCSL Pairs Knockout Final 01/03/26

Yesterday afternoon was the finals for the Mid Cheshire Snooker League Pairs Knockout. Both semi finals got underway at 3pm promptly with Dan James and Jon Berry taking on Adam Griffiths and Dave Hornby on table 1 and over on table 2 it was Stew Leese and Carl Holbrooks facing off against Chris Bushell and John Mills. Dan James and Jon Berry struggled with conditions in the early encounters and ultimately that cost them the match as they were just playing catch up for the rest of the match, a similar story unfolded on table 2 with Stew and Carl proving too strong for John and Chris. Onto the final, Stew and Carl made a great start and won the first frame with a healthy 47 point cushion but Adam and Dave came back at them in the Second frame and edged ahead with a 14 point advantage going into the final frame. Tensions were high and easy balls were being missed by both teams but eventually Dave and Adam took the game out of reach after potting the final Blue, Pink and Black - congratulations to Dave Hornby who played very well on the day and won his first trophy 👏👏 Thank you once again to Owleywood for hosting and providing refreshments at the mid-way point. Thanks to all the refs and markers who gave up their Sunday afternoons to come and help out - always very much appreciated.
