Andersen says their 3000 series storm door can be installed in 45 minutes. I'll show you how to install this storm door and lockset See if I get it done in 45 minutes! You can do this yourself and save a lot of money versus paying someone else to install your door. The Andersen 3000 storm door is heavy duty, built well and installs easily. Although not a requirement , most often storms doors are installed with the lockset on the same side of the opening as the entry door. You'll notice in this video , I install the storm door with the lockset on the opposite side as the entry door. There is a reason for this. The entry door installed by the builder is the wrong hand, it should have been a left hand door based on the way the front porch is built. It will be changed to a left hand door in the future. If I had installed a storm door with the handle on the same side as the existing entry door, we would exit the doorway into a wall unless the door was fully opened when walking out. Not convenient at all, so changing the entry door to the proper hand door will be the best solution.
