Full story: https://bit.ly/36DsX0D An exhibit at the Bette Carol Thompson Scotland Neighborhood Recreation Center in Potomac tells the story of Scotland, one of Montgomery County’s earliest African American settlements, according to Montgomery County Recreation. It was presented during the recreation center’s first annual Scotland Black history event on Saturday. In the late 1800s, African Americans who were formerly enslaved purchased land in the Potomac area, per documents from Montgomery History. Today, Scotland’s 100 townhomes make up a multi-cultural population, according to the recreation department. Music provided by Manhattan Production Music.
