Around 100 concerned citizens joined the rally held on 31st May 2019 outside the Government Building 1 William Street Brisbane. --There’s a huge conflict of interest when the government, who is in charge of the Animal Care and Protection Act, is more protective of the growth in animal agriculture than the protection of animals within it. The Qld Government is demonising and criminalising animal activists in order to hide the reality of animal ag. Farm animals are exempt from most legal protections. And yet this industry fails to meet the very basic standards that do exist to protect them. And then this Government pretends that Queensland farms and slaughterhouses are high welfare by failing to prosecute when the industry is caught out.
