🎻 Erwin Schulhoff – Fünf Stücke für Streichquartett (1924) (Rehearsal Recording) Performed by Pulse UA String Quartet • Viktor Hlybochanu – violin • Tetiana Martyniuk-Bahrii – violin • Bohdana Kozyrska – viola • Mariia Tymoshenko-Bilan – cello Schulhoff’s Fünf Stücke is a suite full of character, irony, and rhythmic vitality — a brilliant example of his unique voice among early 20th-century composers. Each movement has its own distinct mood and dance character: 1️⃣ 0:00 Alla Valse Viennese (Viennese Waltz) — A quirky, satirical take on the elegant waltz, full of unexpected turns and interruptions. 2️⃣ 1:53 Alla Serenata (Serenade) — A light, ironic serenade with neoclassical charm and playful parody. 3️⃣ 5:31 Alla Czeca (Czech dance) — A lively, folk-inspired movement celebrating Schulhoff’s Czech heritage. 4️⃣ 7:16 Alla Tango milonga (Tango) — Sensuous and rhythmic, echoing the spirit of the Argentine tango. 5️⃣ 11:26 Alla Tarantella (Tarantella) — A wild, energetic finale that brings the suite to a fiery close. 🎥 Recorded during the dress rehearsal at Aula, Monheim am Rhein. The audio (and partly the video) was recorded using an iPhone during this dress rehearsal, showing that great music and emotion can be captured even with minimal equipment. 🙏 Thank you for watching and supporting music that deserves to be heard. 🔗 Follow us on Facebook: / liveinrecords
