Under patronage of the President of Egypt, Siemens and ELSEWEDY ELECTRIC celebrated the completion of ATTAQA Simple Cycle Power Plant ahead of schedule. The plant – including all of its gas turbine generation units – was constructed in a record time of six months from groundbreaking to first commercial operation. The first Siemens gas turbine generation package in ATTAQA generated electricity to the grid after 159 days - a world record for a project of this scale. Located near Suez city, Attaqa is Egypt’s first fully grid-connected fast-track power plant.
